The KLAS mission is to provide emergency, interim shelter placement for adolescents. The staff at the KLAS works with the adolescents to asses their needs, and to assist them with long-term placement.
 
 

Admission

Admission to the shelter is voluntary and requires parent/ custodial sign-in or agency placement.  Crisis intervention services are available as needed to family members of adolescents in the shelter.

Shelter Services

The KLAS offers many emergency services to adolescents residing in the shelter.  These services include:
 

  • Crisis Intervention Counseling
  • Individual and Group Counseling
  • Life Skills Education
  • Wellness Education
  • Family Counseling and Reunification
  • Other auxiliary services are also provided such as Addiction, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault counseling
Qualified Staff

KLAS provides qualified, caring staff, who understand the needs of adolescents and support then in this transitional phase.  Our professionals use the Community Youth Development model to serve Shelter residents.
