The Substance Abuse Treatment program provides quality, comprehensive services for those in need of effective and accessible education and treatment in Southern Maryland. A wide range of substance abuse treatment is available based on required level of care. Walden serves adolescents, adults and families through a multitude of treatment services. Adolescent Services The program places adolescents in the appropriate level of service to address their needs. Educational services are offered that prevent use of alcohol, drugs and nicotine. Treatment services are provided in both an individual and group format to adolescents who are abusing alcohol and/or drugs and require more intensive involvement to remain alcohol/drug free. Family Services Family involvement is integral to successful treatment. Walden has Family Therapists on staff, not only to assist with intervening to place a family member in treatment, but also to deal with couple/family relationship issues during recovery. Adult Services Both educational and treatment options that serve a wide range of adult individual needs are available. Treatment Services Treatment services are specialized to meet the needs of individuals who are abusing alcohol/drugs. These include services for those with no prior treatment as well as relapse prevention and aftercare services. Walden has both inpatient and intensive outpatient services available. Referral consultation for detoxification and residential treatment is also offered. MVA Specialized programs include a six-week Alcohol Education Program, the 26-week DWI Group Services, the MVA Driver Improvement Program and the approved Point System Conference Provider. Urinalysis Testing Provided to assist in monitoring and maintaining treatment success. Community Based Treatment services which focus on providing services for adolescents, families and adults in conjunction with community agencies such as the St. Mary's County Public Schools, St. Mary's County Detention Center, Judicial System, and Juvenile Justice.
