Walden's Wishlist
At Walden, we work hard to make sure we are doing everything we can to create the most therapeutic environment possible for the individuals and families healing at our facilities. Among our outpatient and residential clients, we have many folks who are living in limited financial circumstances. Walden is committed to serving all in need, regardless of ability to pay or presence of insurance. To best serve our clients with the most intense need for our help, we gladly accept in kind items from the community. To arrange drop- off or pick-up of a donation, please call 301-997-1300 ext 804:Art supplies: plain white T-shirts, fabric markers, pens, paint, paper, clay, etc.
Clothing and baby items: new and gently used men's, women's and young children's clothing and baby items
Children's outdoor toys: sidewalk chalk, jump ropes, hula hoops, footballs, etc
Gift cards: gas cards, gift certificates, and store gift cards for groceries and essentials are offered to clients in need, particularly those with crisis issues
Plants and dirt: annuals, perennials, planting soil and mulch, fresh flower or plant arrangements (Please call ahead to 301-997-1300 ext 804)
Reading materials: current magazines, novels (Sorry- we can't accept textbooks or manuals)
School and office supplies (new): notebooks, journals, binders, day books and day planner calendars, bookbags
STS (bus) tickets and passes
Signage space: if you have space for Walden to place program and event information, please contact 301-997-1300 ext 804. We are always glad to have spots in the community to place information, even for a limited time
Toiletries and Comfort Items: women and families fleeing an abusive situation often leave in a hurry without a chance to pack personal hygiene items and sleepwear. Donations of toiletries, pajamas and slippers help us be prepared to offer timely, thoughtful support.
