Come join Walden at the Camp Maria Retreat Center
for Mental Health First Aid Training

Walden will be partnering with Camp Maria Retreat Center to offer a Mental Health First Aid Training on Tuesday, April 7th from 9 am – 3 pm and on Wednesday, April 8th from 9 am – 3 pm.

Come join Walden at the Camp Maria Retreat Center for the Mental Health First Aid training on Tuesday, April 7th from 9 am – 3 pm and on Wednesday, April 8th from 9 am – 3 pm.

Designed for people who are not mental health clinicians, Mental Health First Aid teaches community members the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, psychosis, exposure to trauma and substance use disorder. You will learn a core five-step action plan to support a person who is developing signs and symptoms of mental illness or is in a crisis, including suicidality.  Those who successfully complete the training will receive certification as a Mental Health First Aider, good for three years.  For more information about Mental Health First Aid, please contact Laura Webb at 301-997-1300 x 804 or lauraw@waldensierra.org

Facilitators are certified trainers of Mental Health First Aid and represent Walden and On Our Own of St. Mary’s. Thanks to grant funding from the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth, the training is free.  Lunch will be provided each day.

Please register for this event by April 1st by contacting MeMe Stauffer at 301-475-8330 or reservations.campmaria@gmail.com
