Walden turns 40 and celebrates all year!

At Walden, we wear our years with pride and gratitude.  Having evolved with the Southern Maryland community, we are now experiencing the most rapid growth in our organization since our inception in 1973.  Join us throughout the year as we look back to our founding leader.s and supporters, among us for our current champions, and forward to a safer, healthier community. 

Some of our events will include:

Outback Steakhouse Luncheon:  February 28th, 11:30 a.m.  Tickets $20.  Join us for steak, chicken, salmon or veggie pasta & a special anniversary dessert.  Special time capsule prizes will be under 40 chairs-- will one of them be yours?  Tickets on sale in advance at Walden and at the door.

40 Shoe Sculpture featured at 2013 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes- St. Mary's:  Sunday, April 7th.  Men in women's shoes seeking to educate the community about preventing sexual assault, dating violence, and domestic violence?  You bet!

"Everything Old is New Again" Open House at The Cove/D.F.Z. Youth Recovery Center:  April 2013.  Our original site is now the first youth recovery community center in the state!  Come and see what we have done with the old place to welcome young people with concerns related to drugs or alcohol into a safe and enjoyable recreation and education site.

4oth Anniversary Signature Event:  September 27th, 2013 at Old Breton Inn...6:30-10:30 p.m.  Come in "Chesapeake Chic"!

Recovery Block Party and Healing Walk:   September 29th in Lexington Park, featuring 40 stories of recovery
