Recovery & Wellness

Recovery support services provide peer-based, additional resources and support to young people, adults and their families who are experiencing behavioral health concerns.  We provided individualized and family peer support sessions, referrals to treatment and other support services as well as a variety of support groups and sober activities at our two locations:

Beacon of Hope Recovery & Wellness Community Center, located at 21770 FDR Blvd., Lexington Park, MD 20653 is a free, open to the public recovery and wellness center for adults and families.

Current opening hours are:

Mondays 11am - 7pm

Tuesdays 12noon - 8pm

Wednesdays - check calendar for details of scheduled support groups (drop-in closed)

Fridays 11am - 10pm

Saturdays & Sundays 10am - 6pm

Peer support services available at the center include recovery coaching for individuals and families, phone support, and Reiki sessions.  Support groups include options for developing emotional peace, relationship issues such as co-dependency, family issues, All Recovery, SMART (Self Management and Recovery Training) and 12 Step meetings such as AA, EA, DRA, and NA.  A support group for individuals taking medication-assisted treatment such as methadone, suboxone or Vivitrol called MARS also meets at the center.

The Cove/DFZ Youth Clubhouse, located in California, MD is free to young people aged 12-17 who are seeking a safe, sober, supportive and fun place to be.  Activities include homework support, individualized goal setting, kitchen access, games, support groups and life skills and cultural activities.

Currently young people who have a behavioral health issue themselves and those with a parent or older sibling with a behavioral health issue are eligible to become a member of The Cove.

The Cove/DFZ is open Monday-Friday afternoons, with occasional weekend activities as well.

Young people must be screened by The Cove staff to determine eligibility.  The Cove works with families as much as possible to provide transportation support to and from The Cove for eligible youth.

Please visit our Events section for calendar items for the recovery and wellness centers, including weekly activities, standing meetings and special events and outings.
