Special Initiatives

SBIRT (Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment)

Training is conducted by Walden’s licensed and qualified staff who are familiar with the processes involved with successful SBIRT implementation and tracking. Walden can train local primary care providers and youth service providers to facilitate early detention and referral for treatment of substance abuse.

St. Mary’s Detention Center

Walden provides screening, assessment, and recommendations for each potential participant in order to facilitate substance abuse treatment in an adult (18 and over) female Intensive Outpatient Program. Each participant also takes part in the completion of an individualized treatment plan to include goals, objectives and referral recommendations and treatment plan updates

Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention

Walden is working with the Governor’s Office by providing residential services to clients to help prevent recidivism.

HEZ (Health Enterprise Zone)

Walden is partnering with MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital and Greater Baden to provide integrated care to individuals in Lexington Park.

Reducing Domestic Violence

Walden partners with MedStar St.Mary’s Hospital to help victims of domestic violence by providing counseling and support services as needed.

Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid

This is an 8 hour course for community members interested in increasing mental health literacy, learning to use the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan, and in encouraging individuals with emerging or crisis mental health concerns to get the help they need.  To sign up for a course or to receive course scheduling alerts, please contact us on 888-912-7366.

Feeling Recovery Project  
Give back and give hope by appearing in our "Feeling Recovery" photo and video series.  Anyone in recovery is welcome to appear and strike a pose or tell us how recovery is feeling today!
