Program Updates
- New site! We have expanded services in Lexington Park with a larger service site to be located at 21770 FDR Boulevard. It is our "hope" that Hope Place, Walden's Lexington Park site will host many collaborative efforts that seek to meet the wide ranging set of behavioral health, primary health, and service needs of community members. We have also located more services at our California and Charlotte Hall locations. Walden's Leonardtown office will no longer offer services, but will remain an administrative location until approximately March 2010. To reach Hope Place, please call 301-997-1300 ext 881.
- ICF News! Our Intermediate Care residential treatment length of stay at Anchor has been shortened, with subsequent transition to the appropriate level of Outpatient or Work Therapy programming. This change will accelerate each client's movement through the continuum of care and allow for the appropriate emphasis on recovery support and reentry into the community. The change in length of stay is also driven by changes in Maryland's Alcohol and Drug Abuse Administration directives. For more information, please call Anchor at 301-997-1300 ext 846 or 847.
- Work Therapy! Long Term Care residential treatment at Anchor has been expanded to include a Work Therapy residential component. Clients in this component will be able to work during the day while participating in an evening program of treatment and groups. We expect that eligible clients will have a shorter length of stay in long term care and remain gainfully employed while enrolled in work therapy. Walden is adding this component to enhance the affordability of our long term residential services. For more information, please call Anchor at 301-997-1300 ext 846 or 847.
- New assistance for domestic violence victims! Thanks to funding from the Governor's Office of Crime Control and Prevention, Walden has initiated Project EVER (Enhancing Victim's Experiences in Recovery). This community initiative is designed to make coordinated services from all providers in the St. Mary's County Family Violence Coordinating Council easily accessible to victims of domestic violence. The project is also designed to improve communication and collaboration among Council partners so that the victim gets the highest quality services possible. For more information regarding Project EVER, please call 301-997-1300 ext 816.
